Why Does It Drain Power?

Older VW Gateways (pre-2008) use an outdated CAN-BUS protocol that cannot communicate the “Sleep” command to newer RCD330 units. This keeps the car’s system active, draining the battery in under 3 days.

Check Your Gateway: If your part number (Module 19) ends in a letter before “L” (A, B, C… K), your car is at risk of battery drain.

Rerouting the 12V power from the Fuse Box (ACC) is the most reliable and budget-friendly method. It physically cuts power when the key is removed.
