Hi,
I am interested in buying this head unit (RCD330 PLUS RCD340G Noname 187B For Jetta Golf Passart Tiguan Polo 6R0 however I just wanted to confirm that the USB on the front of the unit actually works to connect my phone to Apple Car Play. 
I own a Mk5 Golf

Hello, no problem, what you said is correct. You need to confirm whether your car has an eight-button multi-function steering wheel, and if so, you need to buy a simulator, otherwise the eight-button multi-function steering wheel can not control the RCD330 plus. If not, you don’t have to do anything.
