QA QuestionsCategory: Head Unit Question187B and 187E difference
Edition35 asked 5 years ago

I have a GTI Edition 35 with Dynaudio. I understand that I need a Noname RCD330 to get a Firmware with Android Auto. But what is the difference between 187B and 187E ? I want to buy the best possible version that works fine with Dynaudio and can be updated with custom firmware. So which one should I get?

Hi
If you can trust me, you should choose no name 187B. Don’t spend more money to buy the “187E”. There’s a 99.9% chance that 187E you can see is 187B.  I can always change 187B to 187E or 187F or 187G or 187H etc, but I don’t want to do that. If someone else did it, I wouldn’t stop them, but I wouldn’t do it myself.   The real 187E is produced in India, its motherboard are different from 187B. The details of its shell are also different.

Noname 187B
1.Standard Original Edition
2.Standard original unit + rear USB.
3.Standard original unit + rear USB+ wireless carplay dongle
