QA QuestionsCategory: Head Unit Question2012 VW Golf RCD330 Recommendation
CJ asked 1 year ago

Im looking for a CarPlay unit for my 2012 VW Gold (North American).  I like the idea the wireless unit but I have heard issues of battery Drains and the wireless dongle not connecting correctly every time.  If this is the case I’d rather just stick to a wired model.
Are these units mostly plug n play or is there a little more effort involved in installing them?  Just wondering if anyone had an install video for these they could send a link too? I saw one of these units had some drilling & soldering involved.  Also does there need to be software updates done to these units and if so how easy are they to do?  Any tips and advice would be appreciated.  Thanks

For Volkswagen in 2012, you can directly replace your original unit with RCD330 plus, and your car has no battery drainage problems. Regarding the connection problem of the wireless carplay dongle, the factory has conducted many tests on RCD330 plus. , Has been able to work stably. But it does not support the simultaneous connection of two iphones.
Regarding drilling and welding, those do not need customers to do. Those videos are what I want to tell customers what changes I have made.
It is recommended that you purchase one of the following products.
Noname 187B
1.Standard Original Edition
2.Standard original unit + rear USB.
3.Standard original unit + rear USB+ wireless carplay dongle
