Volkswagen Flip Camera with Dynamic Parking Lines

This high-definition flip camera replaces your trunk handle/emblem and features a built-in dynamic trajectory chip. Unlike standard cameras, this unit interacts directly with your vehicle’s steering data to provide moving parking lines that predict your path.

Package Options

• Package A (Standard): Fits  Golf 6, MK6 GTI, EOS, Passat CC,  Polo, and most PQ/MQB Volkswagen models.

  • Note: Not a direct fit for MK5; installation on MK5 requires cutting the rear wiper assembly.

• Package B: Exclusively for the Beetle. It is specifically calibrated to ensure the parking lines are correctly leveled and do not point toward the sky.

• Package C: Fits Golf 7 variants (MK7, R, GTI, GTE, E-Golf, R-Line) and other MQB-platform Volkswagens.

Compatibility & Requirements

Technical Requirements:

• ESP Function: The vehicle must be equipped with Electronic Stability Program (ESP) to provide the necessary steering angle data via CANBUS.

• Built-in Delay: No external delay timer is required; the software handles the power-off delay automatically.

Understanding ESP Compatibility

A critical requirement for this camera is the ESP (Electronic Stability Program). The camera reads “steering angle” data from the ESP system to move the parking lines as you turn the wheel.

When did VW start using ESP?

While ESP was an optional luxury in the late 1990s (starting with the Golf Mk4 and Passat B5), it became much more common in the mid-2000s.

Evolution of ESP in Volkswagen:

• Pre-2004: Mostly found on high-trim or VR6/GTI models.

• 2004–2012: Became standard on nearly all models in Europe and North America (standardized with the Mk5/Mk6 platforms).

• 2012–Present: ESP is mandatory by law on all passenger vehicles in many regions (including the US and EU).

How to check: If your dashboard has a button with a “skidding car” icon or if a light with that icon flashes briefly when you start the engine, your car has ESP and is compatible with the dynamic parking lines.
