RCD340G Noname 187B + MFSW canbus simulator = battery drain

Hi All
I've a 2006 B6 Passat into which I've just installed this recommended combination.
Overnight, the battery has gone flat. And I've since noticed that the head until will turn off when the car is turned off, but the head unit still has power and can be turned on with the key out of the ignition.
I've run an ODB2 scan that shows a canbus communication error with the radio.
Can anyone help a newbie make this work right?

Same happened to me today on a 2008 B6 Passat. I've not run a scan yet. Did you find a solution?
