Apple CarPlay wired keeps disconnecting

Page 1 of 2Next

I'm having a problem with my Apple Carplay wires connection.

It keeps disconnection and does so every day, and it's getting really annoying...

I've tryed everything, original cable, cleaning phone and USB-ports, resetting, but still disconnects and sometimes after just a minutte, sometime after 15 minuttes...
What to do...?

Can it be the wire from the rear...?
Can it be a new update...?
I'm totally out of ideas, and where can I get an update from...?
Is the connection better with a wireless dongle...?

Software: 5614
hardware: 541
Carplay: 210.81

Cheers from Denmark 🙂

I’m having the exact same issues. CarPlay works fine for a random amount of time, then drops the wired connection. I have to factory reset then reconnect. The reset works 1/2 of the time and lasts from 1 minute to 15 minutes. Very frustrating. I’ve tried multiple different cords and I have a wireless CarPlay dongle. I’m unable to consistently get the wireless to stay connected. It will also drop the connection and am presented with a device not responding error. I have your exact same firmware, and configuration specs.

I also have this problem, except that my unit has reached the point where no device is recognized when plugged into the usb port.

Any fix on this? Same issue happening to me. Thanks!

Having same issue. Unit is now suddenly unresponsive to all devices, wired and wireless (dongle). Provides power, but does not recognize anything. Any fix yet?

Has anyone gotten any feedback on this. Having same issues on the Android Auto side. Cables are secured, have tried resetting as well but still have same issue.

Folks on this thread with no CarPlay/ Android Auto, is your RCD330 modified with the rear usb option? Mine is and I’m wondering if this is an issue with the just those units that were ordered with this modification?

For me even the front usb, which as I understand should have priority over the rear usb, also has connection issues(wires and wireless-dongle)

Does anyone have connectivity issues with a front usb unit? I suspect the rear usb is losing power from lose connection from solder points or connections in signal path

Same problem here. Anyone figure this out yet?

I'm ready to throw this thing in the trash. I have had nothing but problems with it. I have a 2018 RAM witht he factory head unit that works better than this
